About how long does it take to travel across austin

how long does it take to travel across austin?
Like... I know this is a hard question, and I suspect not to get many answers. But, how long would it take to get travel from the two farthest points in austin? or how many miles/time spent traveling is the longest path across austin? I'm planning on moving to the austin area, and was wondering if I had a job in the city, what would be the longest amount of time spent traveling to work or where ever I was headed into the city.

If you are talking strictly Austin (not Cedar Park, not Round Rock, not Kyle, etc.) then you can get to any part of the city in 20-25 minutes. If you plan on traveling during rush hours though (from 7-9am or 4-6pm), you better add on an additional 10-15 minutes.

It really depends on what direction (north/south versus east/west) and what time of day (rush hour or lunch versus mid day) you are traveling. You can get from Round Rock to S, Austin (north/south route ) at midday in about 20-25 minutes. Durng rush and going WITH traffic, this could be increased to an hour or more. There are fewer east/west thoroughfares even though it is a shorter distance, so travel times east/west can take significantly longer... 25-30 minutes non-rush hour or longer.
